Hi Mom, do you like your new background?

Halloween with the Grandkids

Here we are a Travis' house with the grandkids, almost ready to head out Trick-or-Treating. It is hard to get everyone ready and lined up at the same time! The weather turned out really mild and pleasant, after a few days of cold, wind, and rain.

Here we are, almost at the end of the Trick-or-Treating. A few of the costumes have lost their parts, but everyone is still having a good time. We had 9 of the 11 grandkids together for this fun little event. I guess the two scare-crows are representing the two oldest boys, who were visiting with friends this evening.

Riley's first Halloween. Isn't he a cute little pumpkin!

Amanda, Eric, and Riley going trick-or-treating. Riley was a good little pumpkin and enjoyed playing with the candy bars in their wrappers. I guess Mom and Dad will have to eat the candy this year. But watch out next year!!!Just chillin-out after Trick-or-Treating.

These are the yummy treats that Eric and Amanda made for Halloween. Aren't they creative? What fun, and so yummy too.

Happy Halloween!

Can you tell that this family is fans of the Boise State Broncos football team? Here's the gang ready to head off to the game on Halloween afternoon. By the way, BSU won the game and is still undefeated for the season.

For my birthday I got a pair of saw horses. Every time we do a project I say that we need to get some saw horses to hold up the boards. Wendy is so good at helping with my 'wishes'. I'll make sure that Don gets to use these too!
My birthday gift LAST year was the announcement that Eric and Amanda were expecting a baby. This year is was wonderful to have Riley here and get to play with him. He is 6 months old and soooooooooo cute.

Carol's birthday

We got together at Travis' house to celebrate Carol's birthday last week. Ninna fixed dinner for us all then we had cake and ice cream. It was fun to be together with some of the kids and grandkids. This is the reward for getting older - to get to have such good times with kids and grandkids. They're awesome!

Collecting Firewood

It was Don's day off today so we went to the hills to get a load of firewood. Don has to do most of the work to get the wood. I just go along to keep him company. We enjoy our drives in the hills. The trees are starting to turn colors. While out we found one geocache (and got a 'First to Find' on it.) We also placed two of our own geocaches for other to find. We've had a good day.

Tending Grandkids

We tended 4 of our grandkids this week while Wendy and Matt went to Provo UT for Education Week. Here's a few pictures of the fun that we had.

Spencer and his sandbox volcano

Kaylee jumping on the trampoline

Nicole and Don, making cucumber boats to float down the stream... (a great use for over-sized cucumbers and zucchini)

...at Legacy Park - floating the cucumber boats.
Carol, Don, baby Riley, Amanda, and great-grandpa Reed

4 generation of Jensen boys. Don, Eric, Riley and Reed.
Grandpa Reed Jensen came to visit for a day and got to meet his great-grandson Riley.
Will and Heidi came to visit for the weekend, too! What a joy it is to have them visit. We enjoy spoiling them when they come and they enjoy the spoiling! :)

3-Island Crossing re-enaactment

Wendy and her kids came down to visit us for the weekend, and we went to Glenns Ferry to see the last re-enactment of the 3-Island Crossing. They re-enact the Oregon Trail pioneers crossing the Snake River. This is the 25th year of the re-enactment, but they are discontinuing it.

Here we are at a vantage point above the river, where we can actually see the 3 islands that the pioneers used to help them cross the river. It was unseasonably cold this weekend, with Friday having a high of 60 degrees. Brrr.

Displays were set up in the 3-Island State Park.

One guy sets up a t-pee and we got to go inside it.

Heidi and Will made us a yummy pizza for dinner. We were visiting them in Preston for the weekend the first of the month.

July in Jackson WY

We spent last weekend in Jackson Wyoming for a little family reunion with Don's dad and siblings. We took 4 of our granddaughters with us and they had a great time.

We went to the Bar-J Wrangler's show and had a good time. We had sweet front row and center seats and the girls loved it especially.

At the National Elk Refuge Visitor's Center

We had breakfast in the park on Saturday morning. We hauled our camp stove and cooking pans to cook up some pancakes, sausage, eggs, and bacon.

Family Reunion/Campout at Baumgartner campground

The big kids got to play games in the trailer too! Heidi & Will taught Brent and Allison how to play pinochle.
Grandpa gets to enjoy some cuddle time with Kristina.

The grandkids got all cleaned up for church and sang a song for us. What a nice setting for church.

The kids got out of the rain by retreating to Grandma and Grandpa's trailer to play games.
We enjoyed singing around the campfire at night. The fence around the fire pit served a multi-purpose. In addition to keeping the kids from falling into the fire, the fence became a shoe-rack to try to dry out the wet shoes.

The grandkids got to help Grandpa close up the trailer at the end of our wet weekend. It started raining AGAIN only a few minutes after this photo.

Some of the many puddles we had to deal with after the frequent rainstorms.
Don and Carol were in charge of breakfast every day. Melissa wanted to help flip the pancakes. Yummy food!

Carol and Kathrine trying to keep dry. It had just stopped raining.

Nicole and the Brinton's new puppy, Sandy. How big will Sandy be next year?

Family Reunion/Campout at Baumgartner campground

One of our many yummy meals. We do love to eat while camping.
Tiffany, Nicole, and Melissa enjoying their baked potatoes and BBQ chicken.

Melissa and Nicole helped Carol make a poppy seed cake in the Dutch oven. Yummy.

Wendy and Matt made a yummy Dutch oven cobbler that we ate right before heading for home. We had to huddle under the awning of Travis and Ninna's trailer to get out of the rain that came again, right before we left. We all felt like drowned rats but still had a lot of fun being together.
