Our annual family reunion/campout at Baumgartner campground. Cooking hot dogs for dinner. Yum. Don't you just love this gate we have to keep the kids from falling into the fire? It sure brings a lot of peace of mind. Everyone's clean and dry, but not for long!

Views from recent geocaches

Anderson Ranch Dam Reservoir, a rocky cliff near Crane Falls, above the Snake River near the Bruneau Sand Dunes. These are some of the places we've been geocaching lately. We're enjoying the new truck that allows us to travel over the desert in places where there are not even roads. Don and Brent climbed up that hillside and scaled the rocks, looking in lots and lots of the holes in the rocks, but didn't find that particular cache. There were SOOOOO many places for the cache to hide!

Eureka! We've found Eureka Cave.

This is one of the many interesting things we've found while geo-caching. This is a cave just about 5 miles from Mountain Home. It is a lava tube that has collapsed to form an opening to the cave below. Don and I were out caching with Brent and Allison. It would be easy to drive right into this big hole if one wasn't watching. In fact, on another visit here I actually saw an old car in the bottom. It's not there now though.

Don was here years ago with the boy scouts when we lived at the air force base, but I'd never been here until we went to get the nearby geo-cache. By the way, we are ranked #21 of all cachers in Idaho, based on the number of caches found.

Daughters of Utah Pioneers (DUP)

I've just been installed as the President of the Daughter of Utah Pioneers company/camp in Mountain Home. I've been the 1st vice president the past two years and actively involved for the past 10 years. I will attend the international seminary in Salt Lake next weekend and hopefully learn more about my duties. Our DUP group visited a historic site along the Oregon Trail. This old stage stop is on the property owned by the family of one of our DUP members.

Visit to Heidi's

We made a quick and unexpected trip to Preston this weekend to visit Heidi and Will, and Don's parents. Don got to help remove this tree stump from Heidi's investment property. They sawed through the roots then hooked a tow strap onto the stump and pulled it out with our truck. I thought the trailer hitch was going to pull loose from the truck before this tenacious stump gave way. They ran out of time before getting the other stump removed. I helped Heidi pull weeds from the flower beds while the guys worked on the stump. We love getting to help the kids with their projects. We go to play some card games after the work was done .
